What happens during the oliveoil season 2009/2010 ?

IOOA 2010

All registered oils take part in two events and had “twice the chance” of gaining an award. The events are organized and accomplished by the University of Applied Sciences Zurich (ZHAW) in Waedenswil. The media- and communication-partner are the editors of "Salz & Pfeffer" (Swiss journal for catering and gastronomy).

The objective selection of sensorically excellent “extra virgin” olive oils is done in the context of the „9th International Olive Oil Award – Zurich 2010". The tastings take place in March 2010 by the Swiss Olive Oil Panel (SOP) of the ZHAW, that is accredited since October 2006 according to ISO 17025 (STS 240; www.degu.ch). The members of the SOP are constantly trained in accordance to the regulations of the International Olive Oil Council (IOC). Therefore the neutral and objective evaluation of the participating olive oils was ensured.

Additionally it is possible for participants to get the Olive Oils chemically analyzed (4 parameters) for a special package-price.

Conditions of participation during the „9th International Olive Oil Award - Zurich 2010“ and the “Olio 2010" are available in the Regulations 2009.

IOC 2010

Sensorically outstanding olive oils are honoured with “Golden Olives”, “Silver Olives” and “Awards” during an award ceremony on Thursday, April 15, 2010 (Registration).
