Goldene Olive / Silberne Olive / Award - 2007


The tastings on the occasion of the "6th International Olive Oil Award - Zurich 2006" are finished. The evaluation of 157 extra virgin olive oils was done according to the regulations 2007 (pdf) and after evaluation of the data the winners are found.
On the occasion of the "6th International Olive Congress - Zurich 2007" on March 22nd 2007, the prizes in the categories Golden Olive, Silver Olive and Award 2007 were assigned. IOOA 07
All registered oils take part in two events and have the “double chance” to gain an award. Both events are organized and accomplished together from the University of Applied Sciences Waedenswil (HSW) and the Edition Salz & Pfeffer.
The objective selection of sensorically excellent “extra virgin” olive oils took place in the context of the „6th International Olive Oil Award – Zurich 2007". The tastings took place in March 2007 with the Swiss Olive Oil Panel (Sensory Panel Olive Oil of the University of Applied Sciences Waedenswil). The members of the test group are constantly trained in accordance to the regulations of the International Olive Oil Council (IOOC). Therefore the neutral and objective evaluation of the participating olive oils is ensured.
Again this year, there was the possibility to let the Olive Oils be analyzed chemically (4 parameters) for a special package-price.
The conditions of participation in the „6th International Olive Oil Award - Zurich 2007“ and the “Olio 2007” are available in the enclosed due Regulations 2007.

Sensorically excellent olive oils will be honoured with the awards – “Golden Olive”, “Silver Olive” and “Award” on the occasion of the „6th International Olive Congress - Zurich 2007 on Thursday, March 22, 2007.
Olio 07
The most accepted and prefered olive oils by consumers will be honoured with the „Olio 2007“. On the occasion of the Gourmesse 2007 (October 5th - 8th 2007) at the Kongresshaus Zurich these oils will be selected by a consumer test.
Publication
The results of both events - „6th International Olive Oil Award - Zurich 2007“ and the “Olio 2007” - will be published in the relevant technical literature, daily papers and as well the Internet (www.oliveoilaward.ch).
